Giving Tuesday
It is my hope you choose to make a gift to FOCUS Southern California tomorrow for GivingTuesday.
I began volunteering with FOCUS Southern California after a fundraiser hosted by St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church that provided lunch to children in Orange County during the summer when schools were closed.
After that, I learned more about what FOCUS does throughout Southern California. Now, I regularly volunteer with my kids and my husband. It feels great to be a part of something that helps so many. As a FOCUS volunteer, I have learned how food insecurity is a big problem locally right where we live.
I believe by working together we can make a huge difference. Here is one recent encounter that touched my family while we volunteered together:
While volunteering with FOCUS, my family met a young woman who looked like she was in charge, so we asked her for directions on how to package the food. She responded by letting us know that it was actually her first time there and that she was usually on the receiving end of the food distribution. We learned she was there to give back, because her family had received food from FOCUS when they really needed it. She was volunteering that day to thank everyone for what they did for her family.
I have brought our Girl Scout troop, our work groups, and friends to volunteer and help and they all said they have never felt so grateful for the opportunity to serve. Tomorrow, I would like to invite you to join me in making a difference by supporting the services and opportunities FOCUS offers to engage in alleviating hunger in our local communities.
I am choosing to support FOCUS Southern California on GivingTuesday because this organization serves such a big need and I want to make sure it is here to stay.
Thank you for joining me in sharing Christ’s love with our neighbors in need. Save this link, and make your #GivingTuesday gift tomorrow (November 30, 2021).
With Gratitude,
